"Between the Soul and the Shadow"

"I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,in secret, between the shadow and the soul."-Pablo Neruda.
Love can also be harmful,I figured out.It hurts..yes..and sometimes to an extent that it becomes fatal for you.But more often than not,it has already become a habit, by the time your realise its darkness has started overshadowing your goodness. And then..like most cliched situations, you realise you have gone way too far to do a reverse gear.So you practice love. Sometimes meaninglessly. In the dark.On a dark afternoon,or a darker morning.
And you start soaking, not basking... in the darkness. You start fearing, not loving...in the darkness. You start thinking, not being...in the darkness. The part of your brain which was defeated by your heart, once upon a yellow time-takes over. Retaliates.Quarrels.Trusting that you will listen to her and open the window..to let in the fresh scented air.To let out the damp bitter moisture. To clear the silver grey cobwebs clogging your freedom. Fight the darkness, she says. Take the greatest risk..climb the highest peak..dont sell your soul to adversities, just because you fear the dark.
Then the battle begins...between the shadow and the soul..and what lies in between. If you win, you run the risk of losing the war...if you loose, you are in war !

Long time back I landed in ur orkut profile and from there to ur Blog - and ur Blog entered my favourite list. Today I happened to visit ur blog and the pic of a guy and girl, with covered faces, kissing each other, caught my eyes. Then I read ur blog and liked it :)

"Isn't the pain you feel now the equal to love equal to you felt then?"
"You're coming periliously close to contravening my Rule two"
"I'll tell you what love is," I told her. "It is blind devotion, unquestioning self-humilation, utter submission, trust and belief against yourself and the whole world, giving up your whole heart and soul to the smitter!"
"That was quite good," said Havisham, looking at me curiously, "Could I use that? Dickens won't mind."
"Of course."

Today something unexpected, no, unprecedented happened. The Gym is supposed to open at 7:00 AM on a Saturday. When I reached there at 7:15. the gym was not open yet !!! A group of elderly looking people were waiting outside. I found it quite entertaining watching them. Many of them knew each other. They fell into conversation the way not so close acquaintances fall into conversation while standing outside the Gym waiting for the custodian to come and open the facility. (or is it felicity ... gawd i m lil drunk. no its not felicity - its facility). An elderly lady told "once i get dressed in the gym dress, i can't roam around at home in such ridiculous dress at my age" :) Then another man told " Ah !! what a break !!! I don't have to do Gym today - what a perfect Saturday this is going to be". Another lady arrived smartly and tried her set of keys on the locked door. And a man said " Aww - u are kidding!! that was almost believable!!!" Another set of people were talking about the wall street bailout package. It was almost 7:30 - yet there was no bitterness in the air !!! It was drizzling. A pale looking sun was peeking behind the clouds. I just felt good.
